Redondo Ballet announces…

The Snow Queen
A New Family Tradition

Performed by L.A. County’s emerging ballet company, Redondo Ballet, located in Redondo Beach, California.

Los Angeles, January 3, 2018 – See Hans Christian Andersen’s children’s tale come to life: Best friends Ruby and Pearl are enjoying a summer day when, suddenly, summer is frozen and the evil queen steals Pearl away! Ruby embarks on an amazing adventure to save her dear friend where she encounters gypsies, a fortune teller, birds, bees, horses, reindeer, jungle animals, forgotten dolls, pirates and an experience into the ocean’s depth with mermaids, jellyfish and seaweed. “We want to bring high-concept, high-level dance to the South Bay – one that encompasses fabulous dancing, wonderful costumes, creative sets and beautiful music. This is a story and an experience that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike,” say concept creators and choreographers Francesca Stern and Donna Perkins.

The Redondo Ballet was formed with a vision to create a home for the art of dance in the South Bay. We wanted to highlight the fact that there is top-notch, emerging, pre-professional talent right here in the South Bay. The company is home to young dancers (ages 8-17) who perform 2 original, professional ballets each year (Through the Pages and The Snow Queen). These ballets can become a tradition for families each year. The Redondo Ballet dancers train at the Dance 1 studio.

The Snow Queen will be performed February 3, 2018 at 3:00pm and again at 6:00pm at the James R. Armstrong Theater, 3330 Civic Center Dr N. Torrance, CA. 90503.
